As our familes and friends stretch far across the globe (eight timezones in seven countries!), we will be celebrating our marriage in each hemisphere.

Our first of two celebrations will be in Chicago, Peter's home town, on September 17. We chose this date both because we couldn't imagine a wedding in any season but fall, and the tail end of September is usually when Chicago's weather is nearly perfect. And although the celebration will be indoors, in a beautiful studio space, we can't help but center the day we say "I do" around weather like Chicago in the autumn.

The Studio

Our celebration will be at West Loop Studio, just west of I-94. It's just off the beaten path in a pretty neat artsy area. Check our list of thing to do for stuff going on, or our list of thing to eat nearby.

Whether you want to stay closer to the wedding (perhaps so you can better wear yourself out dancing and stumble home), or somewhere nearer the sites you're interested in seeing, there are plenty of places to stay around Chicago, and no shortage of sites to help find them.

Just a few blocks East of the studio is The Crowne Plaza, a great place for a reasonable price. We've reserved a block of rooms for our guests, so be sure to mention our names when making your reservation to get a discount:

Because we've already been legally married for some time now, and because getting married in the eyes of our friends and family is more important to us than in the eyes of god, our ceremony will not be at a church, but instead will be mostly an informal celebration. There will be good music, some games, lots of small eats, and, of course, lots of dancing and Michael Jackson. We have some more details in our guests section.

If you cannot make it to our American ceremony, we will also be celebrating in Hangzhou, China, Daisy's hometown and the city where we met and fell in love, a few weeks later, on November 25.
